For many years, Da Gama has partnered with a range of local garment manufacturers to supply high-quality workwear and medical fabrics to the market. While many know us for our original Three Cats Shweshwe, our offering goes far beyond beautiful traditional fabrics – and we have the accreditations and experience to prove it.
We know that our customers want to be confident in the performance of the workwear and medical fabrics they utilise in their ranges. That’s why Da Gama is ISO9001 audited and compliant, ensuring that our fabrics meet these stringent quality standards. We maintain internal quality systems and processes from the input of raw materials, all the way through our vertical production departments, to the testing and final issue of SABS and/or COC certificates.
Our cotton and polycotton fabrics are woven to deliver specific comfort or performance requirements, depending on the end-use application. This means that your workwear and/or medical garments will boast inherent attributes that make them perfect for the application they are intended for.
As a significant South African weaver and manufacturer of fabrics, you can rest assured that our heritage drives all our production processes. We have invested in developing local value chains with our suppliers and customers, and have succeeded in sustaining these fragile networks for decades. This gives our customers an edge during tender or contract processes, as the products made from our fabrics are supporting local manufacturers, workers and families across the country.
Furthermore, our workwear and medical fabrics have a remarkable historic pedigree and recognition within government and municipality care and service departments – if the government is one of your customers, they already know and love our fabrics.
As a firmly established company, we have large stock holding capacities, enabling shorter lead times on commodity and forecasted fabrics. We are further able to print watermarks, or other identifiable features on our fabrics, giving your products traceability and brand identification.
With our value offering in mind, we strive to limit the cost of our fabrics wherever possible, in order to compete in a challenging industry.
